This segment is used to request additional product identifications which may exist for the product being inquired upon.
DE 4347: Product Id function qualifier has the following restricted coded functions:
1 = Additional Identification - To request additional identities for the product identified with an EAN number in the LIN segment, or for the product attributes specified in segment group 5.
2 = Identification for potential substitution - To request the message receiver to send identifications of any products which may be substituted for the original if the original is unavailable.
4 = Substituted for - To request the article number of a product which has been substituted for the product identified by the article number provided in the LIN segment.
5 = Product Identification - To request an additional product identification which is of equal importance or significance to the code provided in the LIN segment.
Examples :
PIA+1+:IN'
This example is used to request the message receiver to send any buyer's item number which may exist for the current product.
PIA+2+:EN'
This example requests information regarding any EAN article numbers which can be used as substitutes should the original product be unavailable.
PIA+4+:EN'
This example requests information on the EAN article number which has replaced the EAN article number specified in the LIN segment.
PIA+5+:EN'
This example requests information regarding any EAN article numbers in existence which have equal significance to the primary EAN article number which will be provided in the LIN segment.

DE 7140: This data element is only used when the PIA segment is used to provide additional identifications. It should not be used when the segment is used to request additional product identifications.
