This segment is used to identify the trading partners involved in the instruction to despatch message. Identification of the third party service provider and the ordering party is mandatory in the instruction to despatch. Identification of the delivery party is mandatory at line level if the delivery party has not been previously identified in the NAD segment at heading level.

If coded address information can not be used it is recommended to use a structured address (C080 through 3207).

DE 3039: For identification of parties it is recommended to use EAN location numbers.
