This segment is used to provide free form or coded text information related to the goods item.
Use of this segment in free form is not recommended since it may inhibit automatic processing of the firm booking message. Coded references to standard texts is an available functionality which enables automatic processing and reduces transmission overheads. Standard texts should be mutually defined between trading partners and can be used to cover legal or other requirements.
Any descriptive information related to the goods item must be specified in this segment using the qualifier AAA (Goods description) in data element 4451.
